Our Team

Greg Schnarr - Owner & Operator

Greg has owned and operated Schnarr Craftsmen since 1984. His love for the industry has led him into involvement with Waterloo Region Homebuilders' Association and Conestoga College as Chairman of the Renovation Technician Program. He has four wonderful children and four grandchildren who are the light of his life. A lot of his time is now spent making improvements to his children’s properties. When he can find the time, he loves to play golf.

Erik Olsen - Site Foreman, Carpenter

Erik learned his carpentry trade in England and has been leaving his mark of quality on Schnarr Craftsmen’s projects for over 25 years. He has the sharpest tools in town and many of our clients have appreciated the way his doors operate and the precision in all his trim work. I honestly believe there is very little he can’t do with wood. We also love his keen sense of humour.

Peter Twynstra - Site Foreman, Carpenter

We were lucky enough to find Peter in 2001 working as a leasing salesman at a local car dealer. He had recently relocated to Waterloo and thought he would try something different. Turns out, he is very good at and loves what he does too much. Peter spent many years perfecting his craft as a custom home builder in Grand Bend before his wife was transferred to Waterloo. Because of his experience as a builder, he is comfortable and skilled at all aspects of our jobs.

Jeff Kneller - Site Foreman, Carpenter

Jeff had been operating his own business when he came to work for Schnarr Craftsmen in 2007. He has progressed to foreman on some of our larger projects. Clients love his friendly smile and bubbly personality. I believe that he has had a few offers to move in after the jobs were done. He has a keen eye for detail and is a great problem solver.

Greg Hackbart - Site Foreman, Carpenter

Greg brought his many talents to Schnarr Craftsmen in 2013. He is equally efficient doing trimwork or capping windows with aluminum. He has recently been doing a very good job installing ceramic tiles. He has two young children that keep him busy but loves to go fishing in his spare time.

Carol Schnarr - General Manager

Involved with the business since its inception, Carol wears many hats, from accounting for every penny, to creating and designing newsletters, advertisements and blog entries. Responsible for the overall operating and production systems, you could say that she has her finger on the pulse of the business. Proud mother of four children, her many hobbies include stained glass and yoga. She is a certified ski instructor, used to teach at Chicopee and now enjoys her winter on the slopes at Blue Mountain and cross country skiing locally.
